I Am Princess X
By Cherie Priest
Holy crud-muffins this was SO GOOD! It was the epitome of serendipitous fun! 🙂
When I accidentally stumbled upon this, I couldn’t peel my eyes away. It wasn’t on my radar, but those are the reads that I typically enjoy the most. The story follows a webcomic with a riddle only May can solve… and that’s all I’ll disclose because it’s definitely more fun to go into it blind! Pick this one up if you’re looking for a quick fun YA murder mystery. I loved May! ♡ And I loved how the webcomic was intertwined into the plot.
“Why should the princess have all the adventures? It’s my turn to be the hero.”
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue
Montague Siblings, Book 1
By Mackenzi Lee
One heck of an entertaining read!
Lighthearted and fun, with teasing bits of hormone-raging teenage angst. (UGH I loath that phrase, but boy does it fit!) Even though Monty’s only redeeming quality was Percy, I laughed throughout and still managed to find him endearing for some reason beyond my logic.
When I finished, it was the final scene of The Breakfast Club with Bender’s fist pump and “Don’t You” by Simple Minds playing in the background… It’s that kind of feel! ♡
However, I would have liked it better if it was written in the third person as Felicity stole the show! I LOVED her!! I am delighted that the sequel The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy will focus on her!
Heir of Fire
Throne of Glass, Book 3
By Sarah J. Maas
Oh. My. Wyrd.
This series keeps getting better and better with each book! I have absolutely no idea WHY I didn’t read this immediately after finishing Crown of Midnight in the fall of ‘15. Excuse me while I bang my head against a wall…
IT IS BREATHTAKING – I actually had to keep reminding myself to breathe throughout the book. *Deep inhale and exhale* Okay… I HIGHLY recommend this series!! The minute I think I’ve figured out where Sarah J. Maas is going with the story >>>BAM<<< she knocks the wind out of me. The best part about this installment is the character development of Celaena… although I’m wickedly drawn to Manon and I think it’s a given Rowan is TO DIE FOR *sigh*
Now, I solemnly swear to read Queen of Shadows soon!
