Tine’s for the Rest of Us

“Won’t You Be My Villaintine?”

Between Galentine’s and now Villaintine’s I’m finally on board this week! If you saw my TTT: Favorite Bookish OTPs post, you’ll recall my distain for Valentine’s Day. 😈  All of the alternative celebrations (there’s more, I just have hearteyes for my two faves) are like “Festivus for the rest of us” during this lovers’ season—and I’M HERE FOR IT!!! 🖤

Naturally, I’ve decided to do a bookish favorites mash-up list for Galentine’s and Villaintine’s. Here’s the run down of my favorite morally ambiguous villains / antiheroes / misunderstood heroes. (Yes, I’ve been asking myself the villain-hero question for years before I read Vicious last fall… 😉) The villains list blends nicely into besties so I couldn’t resist combining the two into one. Yay for some fitting into both celebrations!

Hooray for some alternate tines 😀 Two of my favourite villain/antiheroes of the moment are Hestillion in Jen Williams Winnowing Flame trilogy (she is hypnotic. I am constantly wondering what she’ll do next, and her logic never fails to surprise me. And I can see it, sort of, but I can’t agree with what she does about it) and Rin in The Poppy War (who is the heroine, but… again, she makes questionable life choices 🙂

Aw, you are too kind!! I love her Twitter haha which is why I want to read her other books too! You should put it in your notes for next year… I think it needs to be a thing just like Galentine’s! Heck you know what, still do it now… it’s hella fun 😈

Aidan is just the best. I feel like he must be protected at all cost, he probably doesn’t need protection but whatever. And also wait back the frak up!!!! There was a Clueless Graphic Novel?!?!? Why wasn’t I informed of this 😱😱😱

😂😂😂 OMG you totally need to get your hands on it! (And watch the movie again!) The gn is technically a sequel but simply an excuse to revisit a favorite and feel all girly!!

Thank you so much!! Yeah, I might be completely in love with AIDAN 😂 …and I really need to rewatch the movie and reread the gn for Clueless!! 💕
